Highlights: airport, work from home, Tommy goes free
We got Miss Nina to the airport on time for her 9a.m. flight back to school, homework, friends, and life back to normal. It’s been nice seeing her everyday for the last week!
It’s a bit of a mental jump to end one trip, and quickly plan for a series of upcoming trips, but in essence, that’s what I spent the rest of my day doing… that & trying to navigate my way through slow internet access to update this blog for myself & you all (=
Ahh! I wish for high speed internet!
The tabloid of the day is Hutomo ‘Tommy’ Mandala Putra’s release from prison, 4 years and 9 months into a 15 year prison term for contract killing an Indonesian Supreme Court justice in broad daylight in July 2001. Pays to be former President Suharto’s son. Influence? Corruption? Nepotism?
The harsher side of his “punishment” is that he is not to leave the country during his 4 year continued suspension. Several sentences later in the same article, Tommy exclaims that he’s found religion & is making the Hajj to Mecca.
That’s the justice system for you in Indonesia!
