Highlights: 124x/171x with Capt Jameson & got new ID card.

A couple days ago I noticed my ID card was about to expire! Huh! It’s handy that I’m here in the states, and not in Indonesia right now, walking around with an expired military ID. (= I got a new card this morning.

TERF maneuvers are fun. (Terrain flight = TERF) That’s the aggressive, low profile you imagine when you see the opening credits of Miami Vice or Magnum PI… flying 50-200’ over the ground, using hills, valleys, trees & buildings as cover, so bad guys don’t see you coming, or can’t get a shot off at you. It’s dangerous, because you’re low enough to be exposed to any number of things that can reach up & grab you… telephone wires, trees, poles, birds coming out of no where…

In addition to that, we practiced maneuvers to get us up as quickly as possible, out of small arms range, or down in a confined area as quickly as possible,, in case someone on the ground feels the need to shoot at us while we’re flying along.

For the navigation-instrument part of the flight, I took us over Disneyland again, did an approach into Los Alamitos & came back, just like yesterday. (=
