Highlights: Home Depot (24’ ladder), home & started cutting palm tree leaves on my 30’ tree. New water-pump for pool. Housewarming party at Gretchen’s

Today was all about the home improvement projects. Looking for ways to overcome the obstacles between me & this tree in my front yard, I went to Home Depot (I should have bought stock in the company by now), and came home with a 24’ ladder.

Using my cargo straps from my truck, I hooked the top of the ladder to the tree, to be sure I wouldn’t fall when the wind kicked up… and climbed up there to finish what I started… getting the ugly brown leaves cut down off the tree.
It’s amazing how tough these palm leaves are! Even the dead ones. It’s cutting through wood,,, from the end of a 12’ pole! Straight over your head! These things have barbs, by the way… as sharp as a cactus!

The pool company came by and replaced the old water pump for the pool this morning as well. Now I can run the filtration system without waking the neighbors with a painfully loud, half broken pump. $350 later- that’s one more home project taken care of.

Cutting palm leaves went on for a couple hours, until Becc called, and it was time to go visit another friend of ours, Gretchen, who was throwing a home warming party in her new apartment.

It was fun getting out & meeting a bunch of new people. House parties can be hit or miss sometimes. This one was good though. a lot of interesting people came & she’s got a beautiful new home.
