Highlights: clean house (bathroom), cut more dead palm-tree leaves, burger at Rocky’s with Becc & Lee
The theme of the weekend remained consistent: house cleaning,,, getting that tree out front,,, and hanging out with friends later in the evening.
I figured, before anyone comes to look at the house, I better go around & make it as clean as possible. Of course Ben didn’t lift a finger to clean his bathroom. I spent over an hour in there cleaning out the tub & sliding glass doors.
I made some good progress on that tree in the front today, too.
A PB local spot in the little Brazil part of town is Rockys. Renouned for their burgers, these things are so big & juicy, there’s no way you can stuff a bite in your mouth from the top of the bun to the bottom. The patties are made from scratch here, and come close to 2 inches thick. (= loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup & a squirt of mustard… it’s a classic. Rocky’s also has the physical dimensions of a dive bar, or the proverbial “hole in the wall”. It’s skinny but deep. Perfect bar dimensions, right? Ha ha.
As usual, it was stuffed with people ordering beers & burgers. Finding a spot at the bar was the challenge, but we got lucky. Becca & Lee (a new friend I met at the house party last night) are fun company. Lee is a tennis addict. Her back, shoulders & arms are in permanent knots- and I think a doctor once recommended she stop the repetitive pounding activity,,, but she’ll go to her grave with a smile on her face & a tennis racket in hand. Ha ha. That’s dedication, like you used to see in after school specials.
