One other phenomenon I couldn’t help notice was,,, the higher up into the mountains we got, the narrower the roads. It’s still 2-way traffic, and more than a few times, a few inches of clearance is all we had between on-coming cars & trucks. Whew! Didn’t make sitting in the back seat any easier. Livelihoods also seem to get simpler the further up you go. It’s beautiful to see though. Seriously- these are hardy people.. check out these ladies hauling firewood.
