After trekking through mountain towns, we headed down the hill to Wonosobo (Ibu Rochmadi’s hometown). Aside from looking around, we had lunch & bought a few sweets for the kids back home,, then headed home ourselves.

Merapi was kicking out some more lava tonight,, and it was a clear night- so the view was awesome. Starry skies too. So the 4 of us (Nana, Adi, mas Parker & me) drove out of town a bit (away from the lights) to get a better view,, and watched for a while.
Lava, when you see it bubble & splash out of the volcano, looks bright red for a few seconds- then becomes this dull, glowing orange-red as it flows down the sides. The glow dies down after about a minute at night, and you can’t see anything until the next bubbling up… we saw some impressive lava-works tonight.
