Highlights: school orientation, drove to Magelang, ash 15 miles from Merapi, overnight at uncle Yanto’s
We had our official “welcome aboard” ceremony & orientation today at school. It was 10 minutes of info crammed into an hour of speeches. Classes start on Monday. It’ll be good to have a routine again, and let life resemble something normal.
I was invited on an overnight trip to Wonosobo (ibu Rochmadi’s hometown,,, a 3 hour drive west of here). I’m always up for a trip- but I just heard at the last minute that volunteers were going back down to Bantul to help clean-up houses. Aw man,, well I’ll split the difference, as long as I can go to Bantul on Sunday when we get back.
Being on the roads in Indonesia is an experience,,, I just don’t get tired of trying to wrap my head around it. Seriously,, whole families on a moped? Totally common here.
