Highlights: my birthday, party at Eli’s, hang out with Fullbright friends
I got a lot of warm & friendly phone calls & e-mails wishing me well on my birthday today! I don’t usually make much ado about my birthday (somewhat of a family tradition), but it was nice to hear from friends today.
I’m not used to being 33 yet. 32 rolls off the tongue so easily still… (=
After a few hours of trying to push a few updates through the sketchy internet connection here, I went to pay for the bus.
Eli and all the neighbors invited me over at 4pm, and threw a special birthday party for me. Ha ha,,, They cooked special yellow rice, and all the kids sang happy birthday (along with the karaoke video, in 2 languages even), and the moms made special treat bags for me to give to all of them one at a time. (= it doesn’t get much more precious than that.
