Highlights: trip to Palembang, one of my most miserable days yet…
My business class train ride to Palembang arrived in a brisk 9 ½ hours… at 6:30 am.
Were it not for the bad food I ate last night & throwing up 5 times, the impossible-to-find comfortable position, loud snoring passengers, fears of pickpockets & thieves, aggressive cabbies that charged more than the train ride to get here, with broken car seats, lousy hotel digs, cold showers and generally feeling miserable- as I tried to get my head to stop swelling, and stomach the idea of eating/drinking something,,, I’d say this trip wasn’t that bad.
I’d be lying.
