Highlights: updating blog, planning Thai & Malaysia trip at bookstore, cut palm tree leaves; converstion with Ben.

It’s been 2 weeks since I’ve written anything significant on the blog,,, and my conscience is guilty. (= ha ha.
Sorry guys! I’ve been swamped & crazy busy… flying around the world, getting through the helicopter training syllabus, and working on a few projects around the house for the limited time I’m here.

I got a few temporary things on the blog… bandaids- until I can find more time later to finish my stories about Vietnam, and everything that’s happened since then. I’ve jotted notes everyday about what happened… filling in the stories is what takes the time.

It occurred to me today, as well, that my travel plans are going to be pretty aggressive when I get back,,, and most of these trips have to be planned out at least a month in advance. Whew- so I went to Borders bookstore to flip through the tour book section of Thailand & Malaysia, to start putting a plan together.

Other than that, I bought a 12 foot long, tree-pruning saw at Home Depot, in hopes that I could make a dent on that tree with the dead leaves in front. Not even with the 6’ ladder in the garage. =/ I’m working on a plan C.

A few hours later I was sitting at the house, checking e-mail. Ben decided to drop a little zinger on me. Says he found a new place, and wants to move out in a week. Ok!

Personally, I’m relieved to hear that. I want the atmosphere at the house to be as welcoming and relaxing as possible. For over a month now,,, it’s been ugly. Ben is just one of those guys- I don’t think he does it on purpose,, but he crawls under people’s skin. So I’m happy to see him go.

As a professional courtesy, however, it’s messed up to tell a landlord that you’re packing up and leaving with a week’s notice. But I’m happy to sweep that aside if it gets him out of the house any faster.
I’m tickled that it didn’t come to me having to ask him to leave before I went back to Indonesia. Stories with him are long, and probably best if I keep it at that.

So I’m actually moving on to the pleasant task of looking for 2 roomates now, to fill the house, hope for an improved roommate environment & ease my mortgage burden with a little extra rent.
Here’s what Ben’s room looks like now, just so you get a taste of what he’s like.
