After 40 minutes there, we piled in the car for 10 long hours on the road. The path led us through the mountains & along the southern coast. I alternately stared out the window, read the newspaper, then my new book, and slept. A couple of the girls are prone to motion sickness, so to keep everyone as comfortable as possible, I volunteered to sit in the back with all the bags. After about the 3rd hour, any sort of comfortable position was pretty much impossible.
Aside from getting lost & off track in the 9th hour, we made it to our hotel by 11pm. Exhausted but hungry, the blessed hotel staff opened the kitchen just for us and produced 2 pizzas and a sandwich. Welcome to Hoi An!
