Highlights: Dufan!

The day has finally arrived! The Bus was early! Everyone was ready to go before 8 am! Amazing…
With a few bashfull requests, there were a few additional “last-minute” new-comers who really wanted to go, if I would allow them. Of course.

I was impressed with Eli’s role in carefully determining who got to go, and who was politely not invited. She distinguished among her neighbors who had wealthy friends and bigger incomes from those just scraping by. I forget the total number of people living in their single-bedroom housing complex,,, it’s somewhere upwards of 80. Among them all, we would bring 18 families, adding up to 45 people + the Ojek (scooter taxi) driver and his family (6), for a total of 51 anxious and smiling faces.

The looks on everyone’s faces this morning reminded me how special this day was for them; which made the effort worth it for me. Here they are…
