In no time it was dark, and dinner was calling. A quick shower later, we were off to the nicest restaurant I’ve been to in quite a while: Hoi An.
Normally, if dinner were worth commenting on at all, I would simply acknowledge that it happened. This place was quite the experience however.
When we were offered a bottle of Champagne, the girls were all smiles, and a few dashing looks of approval later, we were “testing” a taster glass. Nods from Louise (our tester) affirmed the table request,,, for about 60 seconds. As we adjusted our eyes to the menu, it became clear that this particular brand of Champagne sold for $18 (U.S.) per glass, and $90 per bottle! Hold the phone! We practically screamed in chorus “stop the order!” and Meg jumped up before any more of the precious liquid left the bottle, and we were required to pay for it.
Indeed, the fabulous looks of the place came with a hefty price tag, but we’re in Saigon,,, had a full day, and it was fun to treat ourselves out. Live it up!
On with the $35 meals per person. Indeed, it was delicious!
