Highlights: trip to Vietnam, Meg & friends, Reunification Palace
To catch my 8:50am flight, I was out the door at 5:15. Taking no chances with Jakarta traffic + public transportation. As I brisked through Blok M market, on my way to catch the DAMRI bus to the airport, I stopped to take this pic. It just reminds me how many police and soldiers are forced to find ways to augment their salary in creative ways, such as working security guard shifts when off duty. I don’t know if this guy really is a Commando, but he & others are paid to spend the night in front of these stores to provide security.
