That was fun. Caught in a quick rainstorm, Sutrisno and I sat at a snack bar, talking to some of the locals about interesting places to visit in Bandar Lampung… the waterfall.
Ok. 20 minutes later, we were there. This involved a bit of hiking, which was great. Flip flops aren’t the ideal mountain hiking footware, but in a pinch, they’ll do just fine. The waterfall here is hard to find unless you know which random fruit stand to stop at on the fringes of town; and hike the trail behind it. Popular camping site as well. It’s always interesting to me, seeing Muslims out & about in nature settings (white water rafting, camping, swimming at waterfalls) while wearing jilbabs. The headscarf seems like something for civilization settings (roads, buildings, everyday life). Just a funny sight for me, that’s all. I’m happy to see them out here though, not limited by religious obligations from enjoying the outdoors.
