Highlights: website, Luke’s jacket, Lydia’s mom, bus to Sumatra
No rest for the wicked! I ran in the door yesterday, and am running back out the door today!
The fast pace of trips lately is spurned on by the fact that time is running short for me to see as many places as I would like to see.
The advantage of back to back trips is that I get to squeeze more destinations into my limited travel time. Indonesia is big, and 1 year is not as much time as it once sounded.
The disadvantage of such frequent traveling, is the difficulty in keeping up with paper-work… both the trip reports I’m supposed to generate, expense reports & travel claims, so I can get re-imbursed for these trips, and the website here.
It’s a balancing act- but in the end,,, all of this is pretty unforgettable. So, I’ll just have to be a bit more clever in getting all my reports & blog updates done for everyone.
My impressions of Indonesia are being refined every day, through each trip. It’s amazing, getting to see all of these places off the beaten path,,, and compare for myself what Indonesia is like, from all it’s various corners.
I was finally able to help a friend of a friend today, mas Luke. He’s a special friend of Nana (Rochmadi family), who had his heart set on a leather Top Gun aviator jacket. It’s been two months since I tried to get it ordered & coordinated through another Indonesian friend in the states (Destri: whom I met through this website, but never actually met in person yet). As a testament to the efficiency of the Indonesian postal service, I had almost forgotten about this jacket, until a note arrived today saying I could pick-up my package at the post office. $7 worth of “fees” later, I had it. Here you go Luke! (= glad to help. Ha ha
