Getting back to the rice paddies,,, it is the most fundamental type of work I saw out here. Life revolves around rice production for most small towns. It really seems to slow down the pace of life here. Nothing overly fancy or technologically dramatic has altered the shape of rice production,,, and thus the traditional life-style of rice farmers.
