Highlights: Muara Jambi, USINDO Wendy at Lunch, Masjid Agung, new friends for dinner
I grabbed an Ojek near the market this morning, and we took off for the cultural center of what used to be the Malayu kingdom.
Two things were really impressive: 1) my local driver & several people we met along the way had a much stronger sense of their own history, and 2) there were so many traditional homes, even stretching far into the boon-doggle countryside, far from anything. (= It was cool. I liked it.
Traditional homes here have that cross-beam extension at the point of their roofs. Looks like horns.
