Highlights: embassy, Marine re-enlistment, home
Most of my days, for the next 2 weeks, will be absorbed in getting most of my experiences down into a formalized report of some kind. I should have been doing this more regularly all along- but so many things pull on your time here! I wish I had more energy to write.
I dropped by my boss’s office and checked-in with him. While I was there, a few of the Marine security guards were re-enlisting. It’s a unique moment for enlisted Marines, because not all Marines are allowed to “stay in”,,, and not all Marines make the decision to stick around for another 4-year period… So it’s an evidence that they’ve been good Marines & are worthy of continuing their careers as Marines,,, and also that they are willing to continue to serve their country. Makes you proud to stand with them.
