A ½ hour bus ride later, I was back in Kepanjen. A note about the nighttime bus experience: drivers think they’re Mario Andretti or that their 7 ton bus has NASCAR potential, because they are fond of taking the turns like they’re in a sports car commercial. The bus was swaying right up to the edge of my comfort level. I kept reminding myself that the other passengers didn’t want to die either. Ha ha.

Pengamen street performers frequently jump on, sing two songs with their guitar or karaoke machine, then break open their empty plastic peanut bag & ask for money. Some of them should hope they never meet Simon Cowell (American Idol judge).
