We had some confusion about paying for a water dispenser & starting bottled water service,,, and whether $120 was too much (probably was…). I’m still confused about what just happened- but at least we have a water machine at the house now! And we’ll sort out the details tomorrow.
I got business cards ordered through the embassy (I’ll feel much more official when I get those next week. Ha ha), and met a few more people; Deputy Chief of Mission & Political Officer. Both were interesting to talk with & both said they wish the State Department had a FAO program too (= ha ha. Sorry guys!
After running all my errands, I went to electronic city in search of a printer, external hard drive (backing-up my computer suddenly seems very worthwhile. I’d hate to lose all my pics!) and dvd player for the house. I think I mentioned this before, but Indonesia is funny when it comes to the numbers of employees you’ll see working in a store. There may have been a 2-1 ratio of uniformed employees to customers today. (= That’s fairly typical. I walked out with a dvd player.
Instead of going straight home, I met up with Brook & Lydia at an art gallery in Menteng (near Cemara hotel). Why not, right? There was an interpretive dance on the main exhibit floor, using the sculpture pieces for artistic energy. It was something! You can see for yourself.
