Highlights: National Seminar on the Truth & Friendship Committee (Indonesia-East Timor), Jakarta traffic
I managed to get myself invited & registered to attend an all-day seminar about Indonesia-East Timor relations and the current events surrounding efforts to advance the Truth & Reconciliation process after the 1999 violence in East Timor. (KKP = Komite Kebenaran dan Persahabatan = Committee for Truth & Friendship). The Foreign Ministers of both countries were slated to be there, but a combination of “meetings, traffic jams, and wild horses” somehow managed to keep them away.
I jest a little. It was well attended actually. Over 200 people came to the Nikko hotel to listen.
