After lunch in a little roadside buffet (I’m not sure “restaurant” is the right word, but regardless,,, I wish I knew about this place before!) we trekked up the slopes of Merapi.
It was fun driving around & looking at places I hadn’t been before,,, but I wasn’t expecting to see the lava flows & ash that we saw. Whew!

Mother Nature gets respect when she wants it! No question about that.
