Highlights: Frisbee with Ojik, and Superman
I took my little brother (Ojik- the 10 year old) over to the soccer field near our house & taught him how to play Frisbee for a couple hours this morning…
Then took my family to the movies to watch Superman Returns.
There are 2 cinemas in town, and the one that’s not totally run-down just re-opened yesterday after fixing earthquake damage! I treated everyone tonight (5 tickets) for $10. (= how awesome is that?? I can barely get myself into a movie for that in the states!
The movie was in English, with Indonesian subtitles (= and the theatre here actually assigns seat numbers (like a concert), so there’s no hunting for available seats. You know where you’re sitting from the ticket counter, no matter how many seconds before start time you get there. That’s nice.
Nice theatre, by the way,,, and yeah- I thought the movie was great. He really pulled some of Christopher Reeves’ mannerisms off pretty well,,, especially the “aw-shucks Clark Kent…” moments at the Daily Planet. And I’m a big Kevin Spacey fan. Nice set-up for the sequel frenzy.
I’m impressed how quickly this movie opened here, after opening last week in the states. It’s hit or miss with that though. “V for Vendetta” & “Inside Man” are coming to theatres soon here.
On the way home we stopped for dinner on the side of the road at a “kaki lima” (a mobile food stand which usually has 2 wheels, a stump + the two legs of the vendor,,, to make “5 legs”) Tonight’s menu: hamburger
