Highlights: mid-terms, funeral, trip to Bali
This morning we had mid-terms in all 3 classes. I’ll wait till I get my results back to say how rough it went,,, but school had that atmosphere of “a big deal,,, in progress”.
I think there’s a collective sigh of relief now that it’s over.
Nothing helps students recover from a rough mid-term experience, I hear, than a 5-day trip to Bali immediately following. Ha ha. Ah! Life is good here.
A bunch of us went for celebratory lunch at Popeye’s chicken, down on Malioboro st. I think the best descriptive comment came from Eric, “it’s just like Popeye’s in the states, except people behind the counter are smiling, and don’t look like they’re hating life.” The ghetto element is missing.
I ran home for the funeral, and just as I was changing shirts (to wear black), Adi was on TV. His band was being interviewed before the competition next Saturday,,, and Ojik was proudly taking pictures of his older brother on tv.
