Highlights: embassy closed early, travel obstacles, dinner out
I managed to get to the Indonesian post office before it closed (noon on Fridays), and sat through 1.5 hours of Jakarta traffic, only to find the Embassy closed early & near empty. =/ ahhh!
But I did find two Army gents who were very helpful. My plan was to start planning my first international trip a month out. I should have worked this issue earlier in the week, but that’s by me now. I have a few unexpected hurdles to jump to get permission to venture up to Cambodia & Vietnam next month. Part of the solution may involve inviting Lydia to come along. We’ll see how this turns out, but it should be fine.
Lydia, finally over her 102° Fever, was happy to hear the news that I may be treating her to a trip to Cambodia in order to get permission to go there myself (must travel with fellow American, even though I have 4 Australian friends to team up with.) and felt like going out for something other than rice with spices on it. A little Italian food hit the spot.
