Maj Franky is supporting a young 25 year old Christian from Kalimantan (Borneo), who has a little experience as a fix-it man. Mas Harris lives at his official Army residence, “house-sitting” so to speak, and works with him on side projects to bring in supplemental income. He’s been here 2 months, and installs/repairs poles and wiring for Telkomsel. He hopes to move on to Bali in 6 months, and work on projects for Indosat, doing similar work. His big break would be a chance to go to America. He doesn’t have much preference which part of America… it’s mostly all the same to him. Glittery, laden with opportunity & better living. There are “LA” brand cigarette signs everywhere here, so he dreams of starting there. Funny how dreams spread.
