Highlights: Fly to Aceh, Pak Ramang & mas Tanwir, 4 hotels full then Cakradonya
We had a 6:50am flight to Jakarta,,, and my younger brother (Adi) was cool enough to pick up Marty & Dan with me at 5:45 this morning & drop us off at the airport.
Lion air seems to be the airline where beginner pilots get their experience,, judging by the take-offs & landings. It takes talent to bounce a 737 down the runway like that. $200 is better than $350 to fly to the same place though,,, so the dollar wins out over smooth landings & a mid-flight snack; although we may have to re-visit the 4 hour lay-over detail.
Getting to Banda Aceh essentially took all day. Most flights get routed through Medan, even if it says “direct flight” from Jakarta,,, we just stayed on the plane. I’m guessing the distance from Yogya to Banda Aceh is similar to New Orleans to Seattle… but here the trip takes 12 hours.
