It’s a 5 kilometer walk around all 10 levels of the temple. Only took me 2 hours at my picture snapping, tourist pace (=
Did I mention the gauntlet of souvenir peddlers we had to pass through at the gate,, coming & going? It was like being met by a swarm of mosquitoes around a lake on a Maine camping trip.
After 5, we checked-into our hotel & settled in.
Frisbee is a new experience for our Indonesian tutors (= it’s great tossing a disc around with them, and showing them how. we played until the sun went down,, which is always around 6pm. (ah,, no late, summer sunsets around here!)
When it came time to freshen up before dinner- I was met by a fact I am finding consistently around un-touristy areas of Indonesia… no hot water. Ah! The shower.
My dad was just telling me last weekend that he actually used to enjoy cold showers… something about being refreshing. I can definitively disprove any theories at this point about genetic likes & dislikes being passed down from generation to generation.

Ah! Penalty kicks! Whew… I would have rather seen a beautiful goal during the game- but what a tough way to lose for Argentina.
